New Jersey Bicycle Challenge

The New Jersey Bicycle Challenge kicked off (pedaled off?) on May 1, part of the national Get Up and Ride Challenge, and coordinated in New Jersey by the New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition.  The National Challenge aims to put 50,000 riders on their bikes over the next four months, pedaling over ten million miles.  The New Jersey Bicycle Challenge aims to make New Jersey the bike riding-est state in the nation over the length of the Challenge!  You can help and have a great time doing it!

This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself to ride more often and put New Jersey in the lead.  Record your rides, log your miles, and watch as the miles you’ve riddenn, the calories you’ve burned and the gas money you’ve saved add up.  You can connect with other riders in the challenge, form teams, and even fully embrace the spirit of competition by winning points for your workplace, your community, and, ultimately, New Jersey.

The Challenge runs from May 1 through August 31, 2012, and it’s not too late to start now!

To sign up, visit the National Challenge page.  Once you sign up, you will be able to toggle between the national page and NJBWC’s local page.  The local page is where you will see New Jersey teams and individuals.  Check it out – you may see your riding buddies there already!  If not, spread the word and rack up the miles!
